Learning how to plan your day to day spending in your teens can teach you some fundamentals about money planning that can help you in your early twenties when you are bombarded with sudden financial responsibilities like student loans, moving out, and credit cards.
Dollar Divvy is an educational platform that allow teens with their first part-time job to create a money plan by learning how to categorize their earnings. After learning categorizing basics, with the help of a voice assistant Divvy, teens will be challenged to implement a savings goal into their plan.
Interviewing teens and subject matter experts revealed that the technology used for this platform needed to enable conversations about money in a way that fits the teen's mental model around money. Designing a voice assistant let's teens talk about money in a way that is convenient and meaningful to them.
